About the Role
We are looking for a driven, hands-on General Manager (Scenter Manager) to lead our new Provo location. This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in sales and team leadership who thrives in a fast-paced, people-first retail environment. The GM will oversee daily operations, build and develop a high-performing team, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment for both dogs and humans. This is a client-facing, full-time role that requires a proactive approach to leadership, scheduling, sales performance, and customer service.
Who You Are
- A go-getter with strong initiative and a positive, can-do mindset
- Confident leading a team, having tough conversations, and delegating tasks
- Comfortable around dogs (no need to be obsessed, but no fear of fur or slobber!)
- Organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to manage shifting priorities and schedules
- Familiar with metrics like labor efficiency, scheduling optimization, and retail KPIs
- Comfortable balancing operational leadership with administrative follow-through
- Retail, hospitality, or service industry experience highly valued
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Scenter operations with an emphasis on team efficiency and safety
- Hire, onboard, coach, and manage a team that embodies the Scenthound values
- Maintain staff scheduling and labor efficiency to align with service demand
- Lead with a hands-on approach, setting the standard for quality and performance
- Drive membership and upsell opportunities through customer education and engagement
- Monitor and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Average Ticket, Rebook Ratio, and Membership Sales
- Ensure clear communication between ownership, corporate, and the team
- Foster a positive, respectful work culture built on teamwork and accountability
- Resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Ensure cleanliness and adherence to Scenthound safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- 2+ years of management experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, or service industries
- Strong sales aptitude and customer service background
- Experience hiring, training, and developing staff
- Comfort in handling performance reviews and coaching conversations
- Familiarity with scheduling systems and labor efficiency metrics
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work in a smoke-free environment
- Available to work Saturdays (Scenter will be closed Sundays)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $45,000
- Bonus Potential: Up to $15,000 based on performance metrics
- Growth Opportunity: As the store grows, this role has the potential to evolve into a multi-unit or area management position
